Reason For Hope

Reason for hope

I’ve just come back from Majorans end of year party. In the past two days I’ve had 3 conversations with people about arriving at a point in life where passion for ones work has become a requirement, the goal of ones daily toil. A world of people spending their time doing things they care about is one I believe will be sustainable and cause for celebration.

My broken record for the evening is the thought that to susatin 6+ billion people there are things that need to be done, time of lives that needs to be spent, doing things that are probably not of our passions. In this thought I imagine a world where a living is composed of time spent on things that are useful, things that we have developed skill in by intent or accident, and time spent on the things that make our hearts sing.

First Things First?

Experimenting with the idea that a blog, something more structured than snippets of text in Evernote and less fixed than a notebook, will be a good way to bring my thoughts into focus and help me put first things first.
